[Circle Lens Review] Adult Series
Hi everyone!
It's been over month since my last entry, but I've just been busy. I'm back though and with a review~!
Actually I would have written this last month, had the contacts come in. So as you all know, I'm starting to review all the products that I use and let you know what I think. So this is a review for both, contacts and company.
So, for a lot of us who want to have circle lenses but have that nasty thing called astigmatism that prevents us from using these cute and wonderful contact lenses. For a long time I couldn't find a place that sold the toric/astigmatism lenses because, well, they take long to make and are pretty pricey. I know for me, normal toric lenses, non-color, disposable ones run from $100-$150 for about half a year.
I found a couple of places that offer certain brands of circle lenses in toric, but for my first order I decided to go with iLoveCircleLenses. Part of the reason I went with them is because, between them and other places, they seemed more promising and didn't look like a 'blog'.
iLoveCircleLenses offers 3 different series for toric lens users: Adult Series, Flower Series, and Ice Series. Each pair (1 pair contains 2-lenses) are $78 and last 1-year. Seems a lot, but when you consider that normal Acuvue Oasis for 1-box is about $39 and only last about 2 months, $78 isn't so bad. All series come in a variety of colors: black, gray, brown, green, blue and violet. Although, the flower series does carry the lens in pink.
The one I got is "Adult Gray" in the Adult Series.

This is what the contacts look like:

Contacts: I read on a few websites that circles are "thick", but maybe because I wear toric on a daily basis, it wasn't the case with these. They are about the same as my normal contacts and are actually really comfortable. When I take them out, I can feel the "thickness" and the size of the lens though. While they say the contacts don't enlarge your eye like other circle lenses, they are bigger than normal lenses and make your eyes a tad (tiny) bit bigger.
Color: I have natural brown eyes, when I ordered these I really wasn't worried about the color not coming out. Although, I will say when I looked at the lens in the bottle they looked light. What I love about this color and this lens is that you can clearly see the design on them and the color 'changes' in different lighting. In the sun, it looks gray/cloudy. In dim light, it looks purple, in so-so they can look blueish-purple. When I took photo's with them on, the flash does play a part in it, but also the lighting. I noticed that in semi-dark setting with the flash, the contact is darker, but in light with no flash, it is a cloudy-gray. You can see the difference below.

Company: This is my first time ordering circle lenses and using an online vendor. I can say I am happy with my lenses and the service. I did get a bit -almost- irritated because I got no response for over 2 weeks from them concerning my order. They said they emailed everyone, but I find it hard to believe that my email got lost in the bundle, especially if communication was fine before I paid and a little after. I had to send an email to another email address they had on the site to get a response, which is pretty sad if you ask me. But it didn't matter because the same person was handling both emails, so if you have a complaint it's not like the main people will see it anyways. Once I got my lenses there was a note saying that they gave 2-free fake eyelashes, well I only got one (not that I'm really complaining because you can tell they were the cheap kind). It did come with a pretty pink contact lens case though.
So would I use iLoveCircleLenses again? Yup, I would. The girl who takes the orders is nice, she does take her time in replying to emails though. But she probably gets a ton when they have deadlines coming. Also, things happen all the time when it comes to postal stuff, it's just communication that lagged and got me irritated. I mean I shelled out about money for a product, I would like notification on the status, wouldn't you?
And here are some photos of me with the lenses on. While I did do a bit of softness to the photo, I left the original color of the contacts in tact, so you can see what it looks like with flash.

If you want to know more about iLoveCirlceLenses visit them, because they have a variety lenses for normal and toric lens wearers.

Make Up Forever "Aqua Cream" #23 - Review
So today I'm going to review Make up Forever's "Aqua Cream" #21 (and apparently my Almay Eye Makeup Remover with aloe).

Grade: A-
I found myself at Sephora with my sister and ended up looking at eye make. I was drawn by the bold, bright colors so I went to look at it and it was cream. I don't have a lot of creams, the one's I do have, I forget I have them.
So the guy working there was kind enough to put this on me for me to try. He did warn me that after 45 seconds that it stays put, so you have to be quick in blending and that it is really hard to take off. So he took off my eye shadow and proceeded with putting this color and an electric blue. (Even though it looks like blue in the photo, it's actually like a bluish/green, lighter.) I can't say for his skills for putting it, because his blending wasn't very good (thank goodness I have bangs and sunglasses). He also used Urban Decay's blue and black pencil liner and this maschera. I have to go back and ask because I think I like them. To my surprise the liners he used on my bottom lids did not run. I was really surprised because that "24/7 Zero" by Urband Decay doesn't stay. The liner did not run either. I will laugh though if it did end up being the 24/7. OTL (<- if you don't know what that is, it's a person sitting down with their arms folded, you know when you get annoyed/irritated with something.)
Now it may have been because there were two colored creams, but after I left the place, I got a slight headache and my eye lids felt really heavy. Apparently the creams gave me a headache. It was very odd, but it felt as if I had bags on my eyes and I just wanted to close them. Other than that I don't have any other faults with this product.
What I did like about this product that it does last. I tried rubbing it off and nothing came off. When I got home I was eagar to take it the stuff off for two reasons. One, because my eyes felt so heavy. Two, to see if it really is hard to take off and to put my Almay eye make up remover to the test. Well my Almay remover worked because in one swipe. I was able to take off all the make up in about 3-4 swipes (this includes the primer, gel liner, pencil liner, aqua cream and maschera). So the Aqua Cream doesn't come off by rubbing it (didn't try water, although I should have), but with good eye make remover you should have no problem.
(This photo does not belong to me, but it's the same exact one I use.)I do recommend the Almay with aloe and oil free (it's blue), it's easy on the eyes, doesn't leave an oil residue, dries dry and safe for contact users (like me). You can get it at Wal-Mart for under $5 (I think, I know it's not more than $6).
The price is pretty decent for Make Up Forever's "Aqua Cream", $23.

Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner - Zero - Review
So this is a review for Urban Decay's 24/7 Eyeliner - color: Zero.

(Note: this photo does not belong to me, but its the same one I have)Grade: B/B-
"The best Eye Pencil ever, ever, ever! Never before has a pencil this creamy and brilliant been waterproof, too. Velvety-soft, this never-before-seen formula stays soft and creamy for blending (about 30 seconds), then dries down to a long-lasting finish that WILL NOT budge. Line eyes with a hint of color or go for the full artistic, multi-hued effect with the wide selection of lush tropical hues, deep metallics and unusually vibrant neutrals. Incredible with Urban Decay Eyeshadows!
Created with 50% moisturizing ingredients suspended in a sophisticated waterproof formula, 24/7 Eye Pencils offer long-lasting color and a dreamy, creamy feel when applied. With Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E and Cottonseed Oil.Tips: 24/7 Eye Pencils are ideal for lining inner lids because the waterproof formula stays put. Just apply, try not to blink for a sec, and you've got immovable liner."A direct quote from the Urban Decay website, but after continuous usage (mainly because I didn't have a new liner till the Palty), I have to say that this does not hold true. The liner does go creamy and it is soft, and you can blend with it, it does not last. From day to day I just put on eyeliner; no eyeshadow. This eye liner is not waterproof, it smudges, let me re-phrase that, it runs. At the end of the day it actually looks like a faded black ring has formed around the eye, especially if you line your inner lid. It's the 'tired' look, what I like to call it. The weird thing about this liner, is that while it 'runs' all over the place, shower or wash your face without using eye make up remover and you still get a good thin line on the lids. This eyeliner is $18, is it worth it? I don't think so. You can get eyeliners at Target that are cheaper and actually last. If you think the more expensiveit is, the better, then I suggest going to a Korean or Japanese cosmetic store and buying an eyeliner there.

Palty Gel Eyeliner - Review
So I really don't have anything to write right now, so I thought why not do a review of the
"Palty Gel Liner" I got almost 2-weeks ago.
First of all I don't know why I didn't read it properly but it's glittery.
It's not a bad thing, I just wasn't expecting it.The sales girl told me that it's hard to take off and it stays on for a long time.
I also took into account that my friend said that too. So I thought "why not?"I took this gel liner for a test drive.
Grade: A-/B+
Pros:
- Easy to put on : glides on like a normal eyeliner
- Easy clean - wipes down with a tissue. Put some eye cleaner to completely clean it
- Sparkles like no other. Close your eyes and it sparkles and people can tell when light hits it.
- Can clean it off with facial wash. If you're extremely lazy to use eye make-up remover, no worries,
your facial wash should do the trick. Mine does. Either that or I have really good facial wash.
- Cost $13-$14Cons:
- The glitter on it runs, so much like how pencil liner rubs/runs down to your lower lid, the sparkles do too.
But not too much.
- It doesn't stay on the whole day. I have to say that after 5 hours it faded a bit, and I wasn't even doing anything
that involves sweat or manual labor. I was bit disappointed to see that it runs to the bottom of your eyes too.
Not as much as pencil and definitely not as dark, but for gel, I was expecting it to stay still.
- Comes off with facial wash. This is a pro/con. Con because it's gel, I was told that it's hard to take off even with water and eye make remover.
So not the case.It does look like I don't like this product, that's not the case. It was just easier to find more faults with this product than pros.
I actually put this on pretty dark and thick, and it still faded over the course of 4-hours. Not by much, but it wasn't as dark as when I
put it on.
I'm going to assume if you want it to look like the photo in the package you're going to have to put it on extra thick and dark.I wish I had photo's to show you, but I couldn't get a good photo in my bathroom and with my camera phone.
Caution:
I put this on my sister and she said her eyes started to feel weird. Like they were puffing.
It almost looked like it, but they weren't red or anything and it lasted for maybe an hour.
She's alright though, nothing damaging. So a word of caution for some people.
I had no problems with it.Who do I recommend this to?
If you want something that's not pencil and is pretty to look at.
And it sparkles! You can't get that from pencil's without it running and some liquid liners.

Not so lonely weekend
So I thought I was going to be alone this weekend because my sister went to SD to celebrate her birthday with her friends.
Lucky for me, I wasn't. ^_^ Ju said she'd come over with Justen. I bribed her with dinner and dessert heheSo Saturday, I actually didn't get a lot of sleep, the milk tea I had the night before, kept me awake till 5:30AM. OTL
I ended up waking up at 7, getting up at 8 because my everyone in the house was so loud. ;oI actually had breakfast, McD's lol but for lunch I ate my cake from Vanille.
Not sure what it's called but it's sponge cake with mango and mascarpone mousse.
On Saturday after yoga class, went to the store to get ingredients for carne asada.
I figured if I was going to eat Mexican food, might as well be healthy right? lol
I only put cilantro and cabbage on top. I was too lazy to make salsa, so we used the cilantro and house
salsa from El Pollo Loco lol They have good sauces!

While I waiting for the meat to marinate, I made guacamole for Ju.
I did make cheese sauce for Justen, but it didn't look that great lol
But it did taste like na-cho cheese. I swear that chez-it CM get's me with that.
"Naw cho cheese" XD
Contrary to what that looks like, it's actually really good!
Way cheaper to make your own. Ju ate 90% of this BTW.
I had to make another one because she ate all of this one ^^;;For dessert I made her the banana nutella crepe with mango sorbet.
This is the one I made a couple of nights before, it has homemade chocolate sauce & icing sugar^.^v
Today, I woke up with the intent of going for a run on what's called the "Santa Ana Trail". I have no idea
why it's called that, because I am no where near that city. Anyways, didn't go because I was tired and got
out of bed around 10:30AM. Watched some TV then made lunch for me and my dad.
I just made the carne asada tacos. It was a quick cook and quick lunch. I was only able to eat 1 because
had to run errands with my dad before he goes off to the P.I.Went to look at mattresses too, hopefully going to get a new bed this year XD
After that took my dad and his friends to the airport. He's on the plane as we speak hehe
We got there early and his flight wasn't until 8PM!Since I was already out in the L.A. area, I decided to call my imouto miichan to see if she wanted to hang out.
Plus I haven't seen my nephew jirochan in a long time and my new nephew torachan! So cute!!!Me and miichan

She fed me some ROYCE choco from Hokkaido. OMG that is the BEST white choco I've ever had
Here's torachan, isn't he cute!?

After chilling at her house for a while, we went to go eat. Actually before that we went to get milk tea at Ten Ren.
Walked around Diamond Plaza for a while. Went into Beauty Corner and got at Palty gel eye liner and found Tsubasa's "How to" booklet.

We found ourselves window shopping too >.<
I did get some cotton pads for my facial lotion though.
For dinner, we went to YukinoYa Ramen. It's actually run by Japanese people! lol
I had the Shoyu Ramen and miichan got the Tonakatsu Ramen, we both shared gyoza and drank oolong tea.
Mine looks read because I asked for it spicy, but it failed because no matter how much chili paste I put in it, was not spicy.
It was still yummy though!

miichan eating her ramen.

After we ate, she took me to Takashima store.. it's like Takashimaya, but closer! lol
The only thing I saw there was a booklet for Tsubasa's "Dolly Wink" Nail collection. It was free :p
I will be back though! I need to get the Angel Heart shampoo and facial stuff. I'm running out ;o
Then went back to her place, watched Narimiya Hiroki on "Yankee-kun to Megane-chan".
That's all for today! I'm happy I wasn't lonely this weekend. lol
